In order to avoid having to pay tax on the hotels rooms each team is required to submit a Florida Tax Exempt Certificate before arriving. Unfortunately, your home State's tax exempt form is not acceptable. The form must be a Florida Tax Exempt Certificate. Because you are an educational institution there should not be a problem with the tax exempt form being issued. The Florida Tax Exempt Certificate will not only save you money on the hotel tax, but everything you purchase in Florida such as car/van rentals.
